Directly in the centre of Winterthur, on a disused industrial site where locomotives used to be built, a new urban and sustainable district is being created - the so-called Lokstadt.

The project

The site consists of seven building plots, some of which contain listed existing buildings that will be converted for new use. Step by step, an ultra-modern mix of rental and owner-occupied flats as well as offices, commerce, retail, a hotel, a kindergarten and an underground car park will be built on the site. About 1,500 people are expected to find their new homes in the new district with about 750 flats.

In 2025, the last building of the total of 14 structures should be ready for occupancy.

BCL is responsible for the construction logistics planning and for the execution of construction logistics.
