In the coming months, Cellforce will build a state-of-the-art development and production site for the manufacture of battery cells here. Cellforce is a joint venture of Porsche AG and the battery specialist CUSTOMCELLS®. The Cellforce Group initially intends to develop and produce high-performance lithium-ion pouch cells for special automotive applications at the site. At the start, the production plant is to go into operation with a capacity of at least 100 MWh per year. This corresponds to high-performance battery cells for about 1,000 vehicles. The company is thus helping to make mobility more sustainable worldwide. The Federal Republic of Germany and the state of Baden-Wurttemberg are funding the construction project.
In addition to the necessary administrative facilities, Cellforce is also building a state-of-the-art powerhouse at the site. This will enable the company to manage its energy needs efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner. A total of three new buildings will be constructed - all planned according to the latest energy standards. Roofs and external facades will be greened and photovoltaic systems installed. In this way, Cellforce is also making a contribution to climate protection by means of the buildings.
BCL is responsible for access control, security, area management, supply logistics and full-service disposal logistics on the approx. 28,000 m2 site, as well as the provision of container facilities and building electricity. BCL's work in Mahden started in September 2022 and is expected to be completed in April 2024.
