Implenia Health & Safety Award 2025

A strong sign of safety in practice: BCL has won the Health & Safety Award 2025 - thanks to an innovative idea straight from the construction site. Every year, Implenia presents the H & S Award in recognition of outstanding achievements in occupational health and safety.

More safety through cameras on the telescopic forklift

A jury consisting of the safety officers from the various regions and countries initially selected four finalists from the numerous proposals. A second jury made up of managers from the operational units of all Implenia divisions and countries then decided on the winner of the "Golden Helmet".

More safety thanks to cameras on the telescopic forklift
Our colleagues Max Schulze and Otmar Mich made the decisive contribution to the win. They equipped a telescopic forklift truck with two cameras to significantly improve visibility for drivers on the construction site - at the front in the fork area and on the right-hand side. These cameras cover the blind spot and thus minimize the potential danger. As they are attached to the vehicle with magnets, they can be used flexibly. Drivers can now not only work more efficiently, but above all more safely.

The following teams were also among the finalists:

  • ARGE A7 from Germany, who found a safe and efficient way to cut pile heads with the "pile breaker". This team was represented at the IELF by Jaron Henkel, site manager at ICS Germany.
  • Holzbau in Rümlang (CH) for the use of AI to evaluate safety recordings and for optimizations derived from them. Beda Weber, Head of Timber Construction, cheered on his team at the IELF.
  • Rolf Riser from Global Safety, who worked with external experts to create a safety app for training purposes. VR glasses allow users to experience real-life hazardous situations on the construction site and experience the consequences of working unsafely without injuring themselves.

Presentation at the IELF
Erwin Scherer, IEC Delegate for Safety, and Felix Akeret, Global Head Safety, led the award ceremony at today's IELF (Implenia Extended Leadership Forum) and thanked the four finalists for their outstanding work. Max Schulze was surprised at the awards ceremony by Matthias Jacob, who presented him with the "Golden Helmet" live in his office in Raunheim. All four finalists of the Health & Safety Award 2025 received a voucher for a small celebration with their teams.

Why the Health & Safety Award is important
Every year, the award demonstrates the value of innovation and commitment in the field of occupational safety. At the same time, it provides a platform for sharing good ideas and learning from each other.

The award sends out a strong signal: safety on our construction sites is our top priority!
