The new residential quarter« Auf dem Baggersand» being built in the Travemünde district of Lübeck.
BCL responsible for majority of construction logistics infrastructure and traffic routing
The new residential quarter «Auf dem Baggersand» is being built in the Travemünde district of Lübeck. This gigantic construction project is being realised by a community of developers consisting of four Lübeck housing associations. Several buildings with a total of about 250 rental flats and an underground car park are planned for the 20,000 m2 site. The 2- to 4-room flats will provide a new home for families as well as singles, couples and the elderly. Part of the housing units will be publicly subsidised. The energy supply for the residential complex is to be provided by its own combined heat and power plant.
BCL is responsible for large parts of the construction logistics infrastructure and traffic routing on the project and will also take over container management and the provision of construction electricity and water.
Travemünde is located at the mouth of the Trave River, which flows into the Baltic Sea, and the construction site is also in the immediate vicinity of the water. Flood protection measures are therefore essential - both during construction and after completion of the housing estate. Another special feature of the project: Due to the different building owners, there are high demands on the interface coordination, especially for the construction logistics.
BCL's work is expected to be completed in April 2024.
